Kolkata Municipal Corporation is responsible for the civic infrastructure and administration of the city of Kolkata. This civic administrative body administers an area of 185 km2. Its motto, Purosree Bibardhan, is inscribed on its emblem in Bengali script. KMC is headed by Sovan Chatterjee the present Mayor of Kolkata. A latest recruitment notification has been released by the Kolkata Municipal Coproration and invited application from the eligible candidates for filling the vacancies of Assistant Enginerr and Sub-Assistant Engineer (Electrical) posts. The Total no. of vacancies are 34. Candidates those who want to apply for Assistant Engineer (Electrical) posts should have Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent and one years Post graduate Practical training and should have "O"level in compuer application and for the Sub-Assistant Engineer (Electrical) should have a 3 year diploma i Electrical Engineering or Technical Education or its equivalent and one year practical training or study or practical engineering experience in MUnicipal Engineering work for mmore detail please check out the full article..

1. Assistant Engineer (Electrical): 11 Posts
2. Sub-Assistant Engineer (Electrical): 23 Posts

Educational Qualification:

Candidates applying for post of Assistant Engineer (Electrical) should have a Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized university and one year post graduate practical training and should have passed “O” level in computer application approved by AICTE are desirable and for the posts of Sub-Assistant Engineer (Electrical) should have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Technical Education or its equivalent and one year practical training or study or practical engineering experience in Municipal Engineering work. Working knowledge in computer is preferable.

Age Limit:
Contenders those who want to apply for these posts should be in between the age of 18 years to 37 years as on 01-01-2014. However the upper age limit relaxation will be given as per the exciting Rules.

Application Fee:

Candidates of General & OBC are required to pay the Rs. 150/- as application fee and Rs. 50/- as processing charge and candidates of SC/ST/PH are to pay only processing charge of Rs. 50/- and can be deposited in all the branches of United Bank of India in A/C No. 0088050006323 vide challan specially designed and available at Commission’s official website www.mscwb.org.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of merit  in Preliminary Test, Written Test and interview.
