The National Archives of India is the repository of the non-current records of the Government of India and is holding them in trust for the use of administrators and scholars. It is an Attached Office of the Ministry of Culture. It was set up in March 1891 in Calcutta (Kolkata) as the Imperial Record Department and subsequent to the transfer of the National Capital from Calcutta to New Delhi in 1911 it was shifted to its present building in 1926. National Archives of India under Ministry of Culture has issued notification for recruitment of the Supervisor, Preservation Assistant, Conservation Attendant and other posts on purely contract basis. Eligible candidates can send their applications within 30 days of the publication of this advertisement. There are total 47 posts, 41 posts of Preservation assistants, 2 for Suoervisor, 2 for conservation attendents,& 2 for Helpers. Candidate age limit should not be more than 65 years for post of Supervisor and for others it wil be 18 years. Candidates will be selected on their performance in practical test/interview. Candidates can send their application in the prescribed format along with the attested copies of the Educational/technical qualifications enclosed in an envelope superscribed with details given down clearly.

Age Limit :
Candidates age limit should not more than 65 years for Post No.1 and not less than 18 years for remaining all posts.

Educational Qualification : Candidates should be Graduate preferably in Science from a recognized University with Specialized training in the field of Conservation of archival heritage from a reputed organization for Post No.1, minimum 12th class pass and trained in Archival Conservation for Post No.2, 10th pass and Trained persons in the field of conservation of documents for Post No.3, Minimum 10th pass and trained in Archival Conservation for Post No.4 & 5.

Selection Process : Candidates would be selected based on their performance in practical test/ interview.

How to Apply : Eligible candidates can send their applications in the prescribed format along with the attested copies of the Educational/ technical qualifications enclosed in an envelope super scribed with Name of Project, Name of Post, post code Number’ should reach to the Director General of Archives, National Archives of India, Janpath, New Delhi within 30 days of the publication of this advertisement.
