Indian Air Force (IAF) is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. IAF's primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire and the prefix Royal was added in 1945 in recognition of its services during World War II. The Indian Air Force Is inviting application for the selection Test in April 2014. If the candidates interested and have aimed to become an airmen in Group "Y"(Except auto tech, GTI, IAF, (P) and Musician) Trades. The Candidates have to pass the Written exam and other criteria for the final selection. The admit card will be sent to the eligible candidates. The last dateof the receipt of the application at the central airmen selection board is 14th January 2014.

Age limit :  Candidate should be born between 01 FEBRUARY 1994 to
30 NOVEMBER 1997 (both days inclusive).

Education Qualification :  10+2/Vocational Course

Pay Scale : During training, a stipend of Rs. 8,550/-per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay includingDearness Allowance (DA), will be Rs.19,475/-per month (approximately) which, insubsequent years, may rise up to Rs.36,784/- per month (approximately) depending uponthe rank attained.

(b) Attested photo copy of Matriculation Marks Sheet (only applicable for Vocational Course Holders when English is not a subject in Vocational Course). THE PHOTOGRAPH IS TO BE TAKEN WITH CANDIDATE HOLDING A BLACK SLATE IN FRONT OF HIS CHEST WITH HIS NAME,DATE OF BIRTH AND DATE OF PHOTOGRAPH CLEARLY WRITTEN ON IT WITH WHITE CHALK IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Photographs should be only on good quality “Photo Paper”. (Six photographs required during test). (e) One unstamped self addressed 24 cm x 10 cm WHITE ENVELOPE of good quality, stapled/pinned with the application form. (f) Son of Air Force Personnel (SOAFP)/Discharge Certificate is to be attached with the application (if applicable).

Method of Recruitment : 
The recruitment examination will be held in two stages viz., (i) OMR based written examination consisting of multiple choice, objective type 100 questions of General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Science, Mathematics, reasoning etc. carrying 2 (two) marks each. There will be negative marking and 1 (one) mark will be deducted for each wrong / incorrect answer. Questions will be set in English and time allowed will be 2½ (two and half) hours. (ii) Personality Test/ Interview : Candidates about 3 (three) times of the vacancy, will be called on merit basis for Personality Test / Interview. Subject to obtaining qualifying marks @ 45% for General candidates, @ 40% OBC (A) & OBC (B) candidates and @ 35% for SC,ST and PH candidates. Full marks for the interview will be 40 (forty). Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the written examination & Personality Test / Interview. However, the Commission reserves the right to relax the qualifying marks for all or any category of candidates

A Candidate intending to sit for the examination shall submit his/her application addressed to the Secretary, Municipal Service Commission in the prescribed form by ordinary post or in the box kept at Commission’s Office at the above mentioned address on any working day during office hours within the last date mentioned in the advertisement.
